What are the requirements to join a choir?
You do not need to read music. A short voice placement finds your range and part (soprano, alto, tenor or bass). What matters is a reasonable ear, commitment to rehearsals and willingness to blend with the group.
What does choir training cover?
Rehearsals build the skills a choir needs to sound like one voice.
- Voice placement and part training: soprano, alto, tenor, bass
- Breathing, blend, tuning and harmony
- Classical, sacred and religious, and Arabic repertoire
- Preparing for live choir performances and choir competitions
- Choir leadership: training conductors (maestro) for school and university choirs
How do you start a choir for a school, theatre or university?
Start with auditions to balance the four parts, pick a repertoire that fits the group's level, set a weekly rehearsal, and aim for a first performance within a few months. We can run auditions, rehearsals and training for your conductor.
