What is the difference between mixing and mastering?
Mixing balances every element of your song: levels, EQ, compression, effects, depth and stereo width, so the vocal sits right and the beat hits. Mastering is the final step: it makes the finished mix loud, consistent and ready to sound good on every speaker, phone and platform.
Do you do vocal tuning (Auto-Tune and Melodyne)?
Yes. We use Melodyne for transparent, natural pitch correction and Auto-Tune when you want the effect as part of the sound. Vocal production (tuning plus arrangement of doubles and harmonies) is quoted per track.
Which equipment do you mix on?
Mixes run through an SSL SiX console, Empirical Labs Distressors and UAD, Waves and FabFilter plugins, monitored on Focal Twin6 Be speakers in an acoustically treated room.
